Pram Review: The Maclaren Techno XLR

40 years have passed and Maclaren still rules. The backseat in Maclaren is very high. There are four reclining positions in Maclaren Techno XLR. The reversible seat functions are not present but it can be made flat and used. The handle height of Maclaren can be adjusted according to our requirement. The range is not so great but it is good enough as it is taller compared to other products of the same category. There is a metal switch, which can be used to adjust the handle.

The material that is used to make the Maclaren techno XLR is an aluminum frame, which is covered with a fabric that can be removed. Another interesting thing is the fabric is also washable.

The recline mechanism of the product is generally assumed to be less user friendly. Raising the seat is easy, the seat is just pushed from behind but reclining requires seat grips to be released on both the sides. The seat grips must be pulled upwards so that the metal bar can slide back and the seat can be reclined. Both left and right hands must be used in the process, which is a drawback, and also the front of the seat must be pressed.

However, there is a great improvement in the new version in the recline mechanism. The company has taken care to see that user is completely satisfied and so they modified the recline mechanism and now it can be performed using only one hand. There is a middle tab, which can be used to set it to the desired level.

The maximum length of extension of the leg-rest is 7 inches. This can be done using the metal sliders, which are located at the left corner and one of the sides. Pushing them can lead to retracting of the leg-rest. When it is extended completely, the seat becomes 15.5 inches.

It comes with a head hugger, which can be removed. There are also shoulder pads and a seat liner, which is double sided. The thickness of the seat liner is one inch, which is simply amazing. In addition, the color and the shades add to it. The number of slot levels is two where the lowest is at ten inches and the highest is at twelve and a half inches.

There is a zipped area, which is located at top, can be unzipped and once it is done, the hood is enlarged to eleven inches more. There is more to it. There is also a sun visor, which is folder, and a flick would whip it out. The hood is also water resistant and there is a viewing window, which is UV protective, which is located at the top, and also there are storage compartments located at the back. The number of storage compartments is two. The first one is a flap compartment while the second one is mesh pocket. In addition, the size of the two compartments is same.

One important feature of the product is that the reflective accents, which are located on the sides and cannot be seen unless a light is flashed onto it. This is made this way for safety purpose, which would be useful especially during late evenings. When compared to the previous model, this design is better.
